A már hagyományos Rába Ring-i tesztversennyel nekünk is megkezdődött a 2004-es versenyszezon.

Az időjárás a kegyeibe fogadott minket, és a szép tavaszias időben száznál is több autót láthatott a versenyhangulatot már hónapok óta kényszerűségből nélkülöző nagyszámú nézőközönség.

Mint azt már a verseny előzetesben is írtam, a Carina E T4-et ezúttal Harsányi Zoli vezette, és- rally versenyről lévén szó-bekerült a navigátorülés is, amiben Bauer Miki foglalt helyet. Mivel az autón a tél folyamán nagyobb fejlesztéseket nem végeztünk, csak a szokásos felújításokat hajtottuk végre, így a tesztelési lehetőséget az új beállítások kipróbálására fordítottuk.

Mivel "Berci", a csapatszállító Ikarus buszunk még téli álmát alussza, és Harsányi Zoli Nissanja még nem készült el, így Bognár Zsolti kamionjával vitték a versenyautót, mi pedig a Carina E T4 utcai hasonmásával mentünk le.

Az edzőfutamokon nem volt probléma az autóval, Zoli "ismerkedett" a számára még ismeretlen szekvenciális váltóval.

Sajnos az első versenyfutamban a tavalyi év második felében végig hibátlanul működő Turbo meghibásodása miatt fel kellett adnunk a versenyt.

Összességében hasznosnak tartjuk, hogy részt vettünk ezen a tesztversenyen, mert:

-    Gyurinak alkalma volt kívülről is megnézni az általunk készített autót versenykörülmények között is,

-    Zoli mint "tesztpilóta" sokat segített nekünk,

-    Bauer Miki pedig a navigátorülésből közvetlen információkat kapott a komputer további program beállításaihoz.

Végül, de nem utolsósorban a nagyszámú érdeklődőnek sikerült test közelből megnéznie a Carina E T4-et, amire versenykörülmények között kevés lehetőségük van.

Ezzel remélhetőleg sikerült a rally-közönség soraiban kicsit népszerűsítenünk a rallycross-t is, és ezzel talán többeket sikerül kicsalogatni a jövőben egy-egy rallycross-versenyre.

A 2004-es rallycross-szezon a hétvégi, már hagyományosan húsvét hétfőn a máriapócsi Rabócsi-Ringen megrendezendő versennyel kezdődik, ahol szeretettel várunk mindenkit.

We have started season 2004 with the traditional Rába Ring test heat in March.

The weather really favoured us; it was a bright and sunny spring day. The public-who had been suffering the lack of the atmosphere of the races for months now-could see and enjoy the competition of more than 100 cars that day.

As I mentioned in the preliminary, Zoli Harsányi drove the Carina E T4, and-as it was a rally heat-Miki Bauer navigated him. Since we only made the usual renovation during the winter and haven't been doing any considerable developments on the car, we used this test opportunity to try the new settings.

"Berci", the official team carrier bus still spends its winter sleep, and the Nissan of Zoli Harsányi has not been completed yet, so we carried the racing car by Zsolti Bognár's lorry. We arrived at the scene by the street copy of the Carina E T4.

We didn't have any problems with the car in the course of the test heats, only Zoli had to familiarise himself with the sequential transmission.

Unfortunately we had to give up the race at the first heat, because the Turbo, which was working perfectly during the second part of last season had broken down.

Actually, we found this test heat rather useful, because:

- Gyuri could see the car under race conditions from without

-  Zoli was a great help as a test pilot for us

-  Miki could get more needful and direct information from the navigator's seat concerning further settings of the computer.

Last, but not least the spectators could see the car quite closely during the race, which is not possible or rather a bit difficult in the course of a normal heat.

Hopefully, with this appearance we could make the rallycross more popular even in the circle of rally-fans and we can get them to come and see the rallycross heats also.

The rallycross season of 2004 will start this weekend with the traditional Easter heat at Rabócsi Ring, Máriapócs.
